This has once again put the state government in a difficult position. As the issue of OBC reservation has not been resolved yet, it has become clear that elections without OBC reservation will be held. It is the constitutional responsibility of the government to hold elections for every local body after five years. The Supreme Court has ruled that there should be no negligence or delay in the process, adding that the State Election Commission should prepare for the 2,448 local body elections in the state. Are now in action mode. The Supreme Court today directed the state government to announce the schedule of local body elections in two weeks. So will the elections of all the local bodies including Municipal Corporations and Zilla Parishads in the state be held without OBC reservation?
