It is almost clear that local body elections will be held without OBC reservation. The apex court has given its verdict on May 10. The apex court also directed that all the states and union territories of the country should hold pending local body elections. Therefore, although there is a possibility that the municipal elections will be held in two phases without holding a joint election, the elections for 14 Municipal Corporations in the state are also expected to be held on 17th July or 20th October. After that, similar orders have been issued to all the States and Union Territories.
